My Story

As a mum to two children (now tweens!), becoming a parent changed the course of my life in ways I never expected.

When my first baby was born, breastfeeding was one of the hardest and most traumatic experiences of my early motherhood. I found myself overwhelmed, exhausted and questioning everything I thought should come naturally.

More than anything, I remember wishing someone could simply sit beside me, listen without judgement and help me make sense of what was happening.

That experience stayed with me.

Today, I'm a qualified International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), and Breastfeeding Counsellor. Every family I support is met with the same compassion and expertise I really needed during those early days. I'm a strong advocate for responsive parenting and building secure attachments. And those values underpin everything I do.

Many of the families I meet are also understandably exhausted. Drawing on my years of experience supporting families with gentle, responsive sleep, I can help you understand how your baby's feeding and sleep influence one another, offering practical, evidence-based support that protects both your feeding relationship and your child's emotional wellbeing.

Alongside my private practice, I volunteer with Leeds Bosom Buddies and on the National Breastfeeding Helpline, supporting families through the joys, challenges and complexities of infant feeding.

Whether you're preparing to breastfeed, facing unexpected feeding challenges, or in the trenches of sleep deprivation, I'm here to provide expert, evidence-based support tailored to you and your baby. My aim is to help you understand your options, feel confident in your decisions, and reach your feeding goals whatever they may be.

“Contacting Claire was one of the best decisions we ever made. She is caring, compassionate and very knowledgeable when it comes to sleep. She coached us to support our toddler using only gentle techniques and S’s sleep and general behaviour has improved loads! Thank you.”
